Marconi in Gold Anchor | Upcycled
Inspiration
This type of sail is called "marconi" after the Italian inventor Guglielmo Marconi. Some racing yachts, although with crab sails, adopted one-piece spars (or two-piece spars joined at the top, with no overlap) which were called "Marconi spars". The name of the spars was passed on to the sails (around 1930).
